Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The choices here in Chippewa are limited and I'm always hoping and looking for inspired cooking. I wonder what Casa Mexicana actually makes in their kitchen? Their salsa is not homemade. Maybe the rice? I ordered a combo plate and the "chile relleno" was some odd chile with an even odder meat/velveta cheese/bean stuff. Really? Velveta cheese? This is not a chile relleno. The chicken enchilada was OK, but again, the red sauce didn't really taste homemade. I'm 99% sure it was out of a jar/can from a food supply company. I'll have to take some other's suggestions for better menu choices. Service is fast, but I so sense that this is a fast food restaurant just a tiny step above Taco John's or Taco Bell. Festive decor doesn't always make up for middle of the road Mexican food, but then again...

The food was great as was the super unique wall decor. I spent a lot of my time in awe of the amazing craftsmanship of the table and chairs too. I love mexican food so I've been to a bunch in my left time and can safely say I've never seen one this beautiful. Some might say it was cheesy or too much but I appreciated the murals of typical Mexican scenes. The food was also very good we had six plates and they were all super tasty. The chips and salsa was also great since the chips were warm which isn't as common as it should be. I took away a star since the service was lacking I only saw two waiters which is probably why, I would go back if I'm in the area again!

Good Mexican food served quickly. The Alambre (wire) is excellent. Ask for corn tortillas, they have them!

Case Mexicana is amazing! Their decor is bright and colorful and fun, even the booths! The staff is great. The food is amazing. The menu is huge and so are the portions! In my opinion, this is definitely the BEST Mexican restaurant in the area.

We liked it! Super fast, great salsa, good food, bright decor and very reasonable prices. The margaritas were the only thing I'd probably complain about. They were just so so.

Nothing but awesome here at La Casa. The decor is as amazing as the food. My burrito real was the stuff dreams are made of. Quick service and reasonable prices.

The good: - it was fast; - it was cheap. The bad: it tasted like it was fast and cheap. I agree that little tastes homemade or authentic. As I reflect, the best word I can think of to describe our meals is serviceable.

I hate to do it but absolutely flavorless. This is not a Mexican restaurant like I have ever eaten at (I should mention I'm from Arizona so I know Mexican food) I had a beef burrito and the beef had no spice at all and was a tortilla and ground beef. the red sauce also no flavor. The salsa taste sweet like maybe they use ketchup, chips are definitely store bought and low quality. I also had a cheese enchilada, it was so bland I didn't finish. The server was quick and food came out quick which is why I give two stars. Save your money and find another Mexican restaurant.

Good Mexican food served promptly. Good selection of beers. Plenty of menu choices. Currently three locations - this one in Chippewa, one in Rice Lake, one in Ladysmith. All basically the same, run by the same family - no, this is not a chain. You can get your Amer-Mex stuff, but they also have very fine non-typical dishes, which is where I usually head. Inexpensive also.

Casa Mexicana is my unit's "go to stop" for Mexican Food... Once a month, I look forward to coming to Casa Mexicana to try another item on their diverse menu. Ranging from the California Burrito to the Pineapple Steak, their entrees are generous and affordable. I highly recommend going in Monday-Friday so you can chose from their lunch/special menu... Also, take some time to "drink in" Casa Mexicana's decorations. Some are rather amusing (please see the photos I submitted for this place). All in all, this place is a major "win" in my book. Hopefully I am not alone...

Excellent food and service. Asked for hotter salsa and woohoo did I get it!! Both green and red. Endless chips and absolutely excellent food. About the decor: absolutely stunning. The whole place, booths, walls, chairs, you name it, are hand carved frescos. It was apparently done by two Mexican craftsman and it is worth the price of the food. And the frosting on the cake: Two entrees, beer and extras for about $24.

I have been here many times. It has one of the largest menus I have ever seen. The food is great and comes very fast. The drinks are strong. The atmosphere is very festive. Can be a bit pricey for the portion size. But not a reason to stay away. Great Friday night dinner option.

Tried this place yesterday with my husband. Very colorful and lots of things to look at within the restaurant. The seating was tight and the booths are not suitable for bigger people. Our waiter never smiled and seemed like he didn't want to be there. Our food came pretty quick and was ok. We LOVE Cancuns and think we are going to skip this place from now on...jus not as good.

Love the food! The cheese dip is great! I always get the chicken chimichangas, they never disappoint and the best part is the white meat they're made of! Great for kids. Fast and pleasant service. Great decor. And of course 99 cent margarita night!

Awesome food, and the service was QUICK. The menu was a little overwhelming, but hey--options are good! I would definitely stop here again the next time we go through Chippewa Falls.

The best mexican in town! A little tight with seating when it's busy, but the food definitely makes it worth it. Try the Burrito California with chicken.

Love the staff and top rate service - definitely Mexican food modified for a Wisconsin palette, but the tamales are great!

Atmosphere was awesome. Food was beyond expectations. Chicken fajitas and burrito california with steak was delicious, as well as chips and salsa were yummy. Also, the margaritas were made perfectly (blended and on the rocks). We will definitely be back!!!

My favorite Mexican food in the Chippewa Valley. During lunch it is busy, but they bring your food quickly! As long as you can grab a spot to park downtown during lunch, you can get in & out and back to your desk in less than an hour. The Quesadilla Blanco is the way to go, a chicken quesadilla covered in white cheese - that's the way to do Mexican in the northwoods!

We love the place and go every time we are in town. The fajitas are great and reasonably priced. Great salsa and warm chips. The Guacamole is obviously not homemade. One thing we have trouble with is the unfriendly staff. Food and drinks arrive quickly but without a smile or words.
